デヴィッド・ホルムスのデビュー・アルバム『ディス・フィルム・イズ・クラップ・レッツ・スラッシュ・ザ・シーツ』（95年）や、その３年後にリリースされたクルーダー＆ドルフメイスターとのセッション作『ゴーン』は、＜モ・ワックス＞レーベルの看板アーティストであるDJシャドウの実験的ブレイク・ビーツ・スタイルにも似た、トリップホップのヴィジュアル的側面を音像化している。プログレッシヴ・ロックからアンビエント・テクノに転向したスティーヴ・ヒレッジのアトモスフェリックなストリングスが加勢し、ジェームス・ボンド映画を思い出させるような作品を確立。なかでも、かすかに聴きとることのできるケルトのエッセンスが、このベルファスト出身のアーティストの故郷を彷彿させるようだ。そして、そこには水彩画の如し繊細な哀愁が潜んでいる。
