“テイスティ＆キャッチー”の真髄をいくUSパワーポップ・バンド。70年代後半にジョン・ルービン（vo&g）を中心に結成。以来、世界中の純正パワーポッパーの間で根強い人気を誇る。今でこそ、そんなバンドは星の数ほど存在するだろうが、ルビナーズはその元祖と云えよう。
77年に発表された１stアルバム『The Rubinoos』。もう、素晴らしいことこの上ない！ 単純明快なバンド・アンサンブルと激甘60'sメロディが醸す、無上のハッピー・ワールド。とくに「I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend」（アノLushもカヴァーしてます）の甘酢っぱさ加減ったら……。小生これで何べんでも泣けますわ。00年には久しぶりのアルバム『パリオフォニック』をリリース。ちぃーっとも変わってません。依然モーレツに甘いです。
